[Jxplorer-users] Problems installing jxplorer

OS: Ubuntu 12.10 64bit

Java:
$ java -version
java version "1.7.0_09"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea7 2.3.4) (7u9-2.3.4-0ubuntu1.12.10.1)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.2-b09, mixed mode)

I've downloaded jxplorer-3.3.02-linux-installer.run and set the executable
bit. However, it just dies silently.

Any assistance will be appreciated.

Kind Regards,
Chris

Hi Chris,

I'm afraid the installer is a third party product donated to the
project; it usually works pretty well, but when it doesn't we're not able
to help much :-/.

However if you're comfortable with running shell scripts directly, you
can just download the 'project' zip from
http://www.jxplorer.org/downloads/users.html and run the jxplorer.sh script
directly. The installer doesn't really do much more than unpack the zip on
linux anyway :-).

cheers,

- Chris

Alternatively, since there is already an Ubuntu package of JXplorer
(currently at version 3.3.1) you could take that as a starting point for
rolling your own (or simply install it as it is, if it meets your needs).
