How can I get this to show me the distinguished name or dn attribute? Also,
and I think this is related, for each entry one attribute is in blue and
bolded. What does this signify?

Thanks. Thought figured that the blue was the rdn (couldn't remember the
term) but wasn't sure.
You can right click on the right hand tree to copy the dn if you need
it, or explicitly list it to be returned in the search menu.
The bolded, blue entry is the naming attribute, which is the RDN, or
relative distinguished name. The sum of the RDNs of the entry and
it's parents gives you the full DN.

The tree shows the DN in a hierarchy of its path. You can also get a
copy of the DN by right clicking on a node in the tree and selecting
Copy DN.

The blue attribute names show which attributes are the naming attribute
of that entry.
